Jack HansenJack and his wife Pat reside in Greenville, South Carolina, where they moved to be closer to their grandchildren in retirement. Jack continues to consult on a part-time basis for two of his former employers. He spent his career conducting and directing research. His last full time position was Associate Director of the Institute for Human and Machine Cognition (Pensacola, FL), and prior to that he served as the Deputy Center Director for Research at the NASA Ames Research Center (Mountain View, CA).He began examining the personal dimensions of the transition to retirement while participating in the two-year Academy for Spiritual Formation, a program of The Upper Room. For his Academy ministry project he interviewed retired professionals around the country, and became intrigued by what he discovered.
